Lessons in Voice and Piano

Contact me for information about summer lessons, beginning voice classes, or musical theatre classes!

My qualifications as a voice teacher/vocal coach and piano teacher/coach are as follows:  Professional experience as a Pianist (classical, jazz, pop, and all styles), Accompanist, Vocalist (opera, musical theatre, oratorio, concert, jazz, pop, etc.), B.M. degree in piano performance, M.M. degree in voice performance, opera, theory and composition, and doctoral candidate in voice performance (children's choir, high school, college, and church), dance, acting, directing, church organist, and teaching organ and guitar.

A teacher may have qualifications and credentials, but to me, it is most important that they really care and can relate to their students.  My commitment to you is that I do care about each student individually, in helping them reach their potential, in becoming a better singer/pianist and performer,  in gaining confidence and self-esteem, in making a positive experience for them each lesson, in keeping their voices healthy, and to make sure they experience the beauty and joyfulness of music in their singing and playing.

MUSIC STUDIO POLICY

Thank you for choosing me as your instructor/coach.  I appreciate this opportunity and look forward to teaching you.  The following policy is set up for your musical instruction.

TUITION FOR VOICE AND PIANO

Lesson rates depend on the needs of the student, in-home lessons or studio lessons.  Lessons may be for 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes.  For more information on tuition contact Yvonne directly at 913-544-6278.  Tuition is due at the last lesson of the last week, one month in advance, according to four or five lessons in the coming month.

If you decide to discontinue your lessons, notice and payment must be given on the last lesson of the last week, one month in advance, so that there is enough time to schedule another student/students for that time slot.  Therefore, after your notice, there will be one month of lessons.  If you discontinue your lessons without notice, you will be billed for the coming month.

MISSED LESSONS

There are no refunds or credits for missed lessons.  However, there are 2 make-up lessons annually, and if the teacher cancels, there will be make-up lessons.

RECITALS AND PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES

Each student has an opportunity to perform in recitals and Broadway/Disney shows.  There are also auditions throughout the year for events and musical theatre in the Kansas City area.  I can prepare students for these if they are interested in auditioning.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call or text and I will help in any way possible.

Thank you very much.
